SWDC/KEY Hair was the first building to be painted under the Manjimup Art Deco Initiative project. Owner Nick Yovkoff was behind the project from day one, and was pleased to see his building refreshed.
South West Development Commission and KEY Hair Design reside in the building so a neutral and corporate colour scheme was necessary to showcase the businesses. I worked with the owners & occupants to select colours from the palette determined earlier in the project.
Existing tile (added sometime during the '60s) was painted over on the lower half of the facade to create a unified shopfront. The trim and the badge on the parapet was highlighted to show off the beautiful Art Deco style.
